Upset with preschool

My ds(4) has stomach ulcers. He NEVER complains about tummy pain unless he's in proper pain. Considering he has ulcers any complaints by him we take very seriously. The preschool are aware of it.

I took him to preschool this morning all well and dandy. When I picked him up he was clearly unwell. Nothing was said to me. DS tells me when we get home he has stomach ache and that he told his keyworker who said "oh dear" and told him to go and play. He is now ill with a stupidly high temperature and being sick (so clearly a bug and not the ulcers thankfully).

But I'm furious that they didn't take him seriously. Had that been an ulcer problem it could have been very serious and they didn't even tell me. I'm also furious that they didn't even notice he was burning up (his temperature was 39.5C when I got him home). All they said was "oh dear".

I don't want to complain about this as well to them (we're complaining all the time at the moment about various things) but I think we have little choice do we? Or am I expecting too much of them maybe?

rebl, that is horrible . I see what you mean about picking your battles.

Perhaps say "DS was very ill on Monday. I know he doesn't always communicate too well, but could you let me know if he says x, y, z? "

He's really poorly now . Been at out of hours GP with him. Really struggling with his temperature. Its just not coming down below 39. So annoyed with preschool. Any child in their care with a temperature that high you would have thought they would have noticed. He was acting ill when I picked up, he didn't even need to say anything, it was obvious.

Write a nice polite letter to the preschool about this, so you and they have it on record and hopefully guard against it ever happening again.

I spoke to the manager this morning when I dropped off dd this morning. She said that she'll speak to the staff. She also says that she didn't notice ds acting ill . I do wonder about them but I only have to stick it for this half term and then they're out of there. It really does piss me off that they argue with me over so many aspects of ds and his problems and say that he doesn't have problems there and yet they can't even pick up the fact he's ill. Really make me wonder.
