He is playing with the number and colour apps I have downloaded onto my phone very peaceably.

AND he ate three cocktail sausages! This is an enormous triumph as he has never consumed any protein from meat, fish, cheese or eggs in three years. I did a happy dance

Go DS!

Now put Eurovision on and scare him off to bed!

5inthebed · 29/05/2010 21:54

Well done . From someone else whos child has major food issues, thats an amazing accomplishment.

MiladyDeWinterOfDiscontent · 29/05/2010 22:03

He was VERY hungry when the sausages were offered. And he had survived on only Walkers Cheese and Onion crisps for three days previously

Thanks 5 and ourye at Eurovision!

DS2 could survive on jam sandwiches given the oppertunity.

MiladyDeWinterOfDiscontent · 29/05/2010 22:19

I wish ds would eat bread. Jam sandwiches are sort of okay - does DS2 eat protein or drink milk?

I blame myself for the cheese and onion Walkers as I scoffed them all through pregnancy

He eats loads of cheese, and I mean loads. I buy two huge blocks of extra mature cheddar a week just for him, and he drinks milk at school and at home when he takes his meds.

But really, his diet is crap.

I drank loads of coke when I was pregnant with ds2, no way am I giving him that

MiladyDeWinterOfDiscontent · 29/05/2010 22:29

Good that he eats all that cheese though! On toast?

I do know how it is, it's awful, we should all have some sort of dedicated support thread I think.

One of my ds' five foods other than milk or fruit was toast. I tried the gluten-free stuff and he gamely tasted it, hated it and then wouldn't eat it for two weeks!

With that well-meaning action I reduced his diet by 20%

No, he won't eat cheese melted, grated or in squares. It has to be rectangular, a certain width and the right colour. So not as easy as it sounds!

It is really hard when they stop eating a safe food isn't it! The only vegetable DS2 would eat was broccoli and my mam served it to him with gravy on the other week, never again has it passed his lips.

So is it just cheese and onion crisps or will he have other flavours?

MiladyDeWinterOfDiscontent · 29/05/2010 22:50

Just cheese and onion in crisps BUT he will also tolerate Frazzles.

LOL at the cheese, that reminds me of DS with his toast. Butter MUST be applied immediately, must be cut into small triangles with the crusts off, then left to go cold and rubbery before it is fit for his consumption

Oh dear about the broccoli, maybe give it a few weeks and hope he forgets? It worked for us with the toast but then we were probably lucky...

Does your son eat any wet foods? Ice cream only here.

Hooray for Master Milady

TheArsenicCupCake · 29/05/2010 23:47

Yay! Go for it little man!

5inthebed · 30/05/2010 09:50

Soup, beans and ice cream.

Actually, compared to your DS he probably has a wider ranged diet. Don't know why I'm moaning

waitingforgodot · 30/05/2010 12:38

Yay!!
thats great news re sausages.
My DS wont tolerate wet food except yogurt and ice cream.
Cheese unfortunately gives him eczema although he does love it.
Sorry to hear about the gluten free bread not going well. Would he eat a gluten free roll?

I find DS so fickle.
Today he doesn't like ham.
Liked it fine last week. Oh and doesnt like raspberries either. They were his favourite last summer.
