Bittersweet moment

DD was going into nursery and saw a girl from nursery and her sister in the playground. She was saying "hiya" to them and waving, with a lovely friendly smile...but her speech is just so slurred (it takes a good few seconds for her to say "hiya") that they didn't realise what she was saying and kept their backs to her.

I said "oh you are saying hello" but the woman and daughters just kept on ignoring us, DD just happens to adore the youngest daughter of the lest friendly (some would say cat's bum faced) parent at nursery, typical!! I think they just ignore DD as not worth being interested in.

Anyway I spoke to the head and she is going to encourage the kids to say hello back to DD.

Other kids at the nursery are really nice, one comes up and strokes her face and says hello.

Oh FFTM that is certainly bittersweet, you do seem to go through it frequently at the nursery

But good on your DD though. I can just imagine her lovely friendly smile!

I think it's mostly sweet though, and the Head said she will work on getting the other kids to talk to DD which is nice.
