ds4 rolling round on floor saying 'ning'......

.....but remember he's totally 'normal'.

Just feeling grumpy and frustrated. DS1 (4y 11m) has exhibited ASD typical behaviour for 3 years. Saw HV and Paed last year who declared him 'normal' because he made an airplane noise while he played with a toy plane in her office - he had just learnt to do that, which at I felt was a little late.

Going through a bad patch again which culminated today with him punching me, then biting me, then dropping to the floor and rolling back and forth across the room, screeching 'ning' for about 5 minutes. Then he calmed down, got up, and actually behaved amazingly well for rest of afternoon.
Think whats upset me was that we were at my Grandad's and its really freaked him out.

I find it really hard to believe this is what other parents go through - he is soooo different to his younger brother. Can't ever face talking to another pro about it after all the 'you don't love him because of his birth / you need antidepressants / you dont give him enough attention / he knows you love his brother more than him etc etc' accusations that were thrown at me this time last year.

Grrrr.
Thanks for reading.

poor you and ds

Sounds miserable.
DD sometimes shouts "ning". Think it sounds good to her.
(sorry, that is just an aside and not helpful).
Also it's a bit crap when you are accused of not caring!

Those accusations are shocking! From someone with psychotherapy background possibly? Ning was one of DS's many sounds over the years and a friend's son also used to "ninganinganinga", how we laughed (NOT)!
