dd is 4 and had spastic diplegic CP. we heard last week that they have agreed her statement but we're now waiting for the draft statement. I have no idea what it will contain - is it more or less just hours of support or is there other stuff too? I'm just so nervous and really want to find out what they're going to say and whether or not we need to appeal or anything.

There is 'usually' a process to it I'm afraid. The proposed statement is 'usually' a load of waffle that costs nothing with caveats and get out clauses. Sorry, this is fairly standard so don't feel stressed by it. It marks the beginnings of negotiations.

There are charities out there that can help at this time. IPSEA, ACE and SOS SEN are good ones but their lines get busy so best to phone when other parents are likely to be putting their children to bed.

You can't appeal a proposed statement, only a final one, so don't worry too much about that yet,
