Hi I know only we can answer this . DS1 has Asperger's. re classified last week from PDD NOS. His brother age 10 has similar triats but different. DS2 is passionate about tube maps, bus routes etc.spent yesterday afternoon searching out pictures of tube tunnels from around the world on line! has little imaginative play but did have some when younger. No imagination for literacy at school, very good at maths. has good group of friends at school which tend to be the more immature boys who like to be silly. fidgets constantly. Is shy with strangers and tends to be very quiet unlike his brother who is very outgoing and hyper verbal!! His speech was slightly delayed when younger but after 6 weeks SALT had caught up. Is this ASD or just shy "geek" excuse term no offence meant

Well the only way you will find out is after an assessment I suppose. Think about the difference a dx has made to your DS1 and whether such a 'ticket' will be useful to your DS2. If you think he'll need a statement for secondary then I'd say go for it asap.

TBH I dont think anyone would give him a statement. There are quite a few children in his class with "issues" and DS2 isnt cinsidered to be one of them. As he is quiet and bright he is considered to be doing fine. DS1 has sa statement. We read "the London Eye Mystery " a while back. Central character has an ASD and DS2 declared he thought differently too. DH is convinced that both himself his mother and DS2 are on the spectrum

Forget whether anyone will give him one, do YOU think he will need one for secondary (forgetting to the 'others')?
