Look for the disc-o-sit cushion at physioroom.com. It comes in a junior version and a larger one. We have the larger one on a plain wooden dining chair at home (DS1 was trashing the cloth ones with his messy eating and leaky nappies) and he sits really nicely on it, most of the time.

Oh - and if you do get chance to see the packaging, the instructions on the side, in pictures are rather amusing just for their sheer crypticness!

The Senior looks the same as the Junior or is that just the pictures ? What is best for average size 6 year old ?

Ds also has the move-n-sit wedge from the website above. We had to get the junior size to fit the little school chairs because it is smaller. Ds is a tall 10 and still fits on it ok. Actually I find it helpful too although it is at school most the time.

Cybersraphim - the difference is in the size - the junior is 33cm and the regular one 39cm. We got the regulr one for DS1's dining chair because it's quite a big chair, but school chairs are always diddy.

Can I just add I have the one troublewithtalk linked to and the difference in DS1's school work has been amazing. (He's a tall lanky 10 yr old and has the junior one) He's also getting a small weighted lap blanket as he had one for a trial and loved it.

Just checked the link and it looks the same as the one our OT suggested - she is going to lend it to school for a week so we can try it out before one is purchased (that is when we can get him there for longer than the current 1hr/day ). Do you have an OT you can ask to do the same, that way you can at least try before buying?
