DS2 has such a lovely laugh, too! Really infectious!

Anyhow, he's been making little attempts at speech, lately. He's not very clear and has real difficulties forming a lot of sounds and putting them together, but there's definite odd words and attempts at copying phrases from the TV.

He had a run in with the kitchen safety gate, this morning, when he was trying to grab the dyson, through it and ended up in tears. This afternoon, I was washing up and he was stood at the gate, chattering away with his usual chirpy babble, then started waving his hand at the dyson saying, as clear as day, "No! No! No-teee! No-teee!"

ds has autism, sld, no speech,is 9 he hates hates hates having his hair cut, holding down job. Me and my mum were talking about planning the next haircut for a few minutes, when dh and I were going to do it etc when ds walks up to me and got my finger and held it up to my mouth again and again until I did the shhh sound.
Made us all laugh our heads off, he got what he wanted though, clever boy (and we still have'nt plucked up the courage to cut his hair.

This is a weird one, but I've fallen in love with my eyes. I'm not the skinniest person ever, and there's a lot about my body I don't like.

But I've recently started wearing a bit of eye make up, and I love my eyes. OK, they don't work as they should, but I just think they look, nice. I love doing my make up now, so I can look at them in the mirror . My lashes are really long and lovely, I just love how my eyes look. They cause me so much hassle but they look so pretty.

Well, I think so

My DS (17 months, CP) has recently learnt to sign "finished". He has started using it frequently when he is fed up of whichever professional we are having an appointment with. I particularly enjoyed it when he was being assessed by the incredibly patronising, unhelpful and negative SALT at the hospital and he started frantically signing "finished" at me and gazing at the door

Example of useful insight from said SALT - DS points at his drink. I go to pass him the drink - SALT grabs it off me "No you must offer him a choice like this" she says holding the drink and a breadstick about five inches from his face. Yes I do offer him choices you patronising cow, but he was asking for the drink. Sorry, a bit off topic there.

Hah! DS2 would use the "finished" sign a lot if he mastered it! I had to give him lots of nasty ibuprofen, last week - it's a full medicine syringe and tissues job because he hates taking medicines at all. Anyhow, after the first few drops, he'd pointedly grab the tissues and wipe his face as if to say "Right, I'm done now. Get lost!" - normally he would simply get up and run off, but he was unable to sit himself up because his neck was so sore.

DD1 copies phrases, and it is so cute! Her latest one is "Well...the thing is..." It sounds so eccentric. I just adore her.

DS (CP) does a lot of eye pointing. one of his latest one is mummy's boobies
