At 18months, she is finally taking 10steps + .

she has hypermobility, and is extremely flexiable.

her legs shake when she is walking, particularly her left leg, so will still be seeing docs soon to ask for physio referral. left leg def doesnt movce the same as her right.

Well done little misdee .

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/05/2010 09:43

That's great, and relatively early for hypermobility, my DD was 24 months when she started walking.

claw3 · 08/05/2010 11:22

My ds2 didnt walk until he was 18months and he doesnt have hypermobility or any other difficulties.

You must be very proud, she has managed it and with difficulties. Well done little Misdee

That's fabulous! I'm in a v similar sutuation... Our DS is 18 months and has hypermobility, he isn't walking yet but this weekend has also been taking some steps alone. I'm also very excited so can understand how thrilled you must be. I can't wait for the days when i'm chasing him all over the house/garden. Would love you to keep me posted on your daughter's progress.

awww

misdee · 10/05/2010 11:10

Thank you.

She isnt taking loads of steps, with my older girls, it was 'ooo i can walk, who needs crawling now' and off they went. dd4 is still mainly crawling, but getting more confident slowly. The thing she loves though, is her wheelybug. she grabs and litterally runs whilst holding it. she is so fast that way. she wont sit on it though lol.

Avril, dd4 left leg turns more outwards, and she sort of 'swings' it round when walking instead of moving it forward to walk. if that makes any sense.

i have no idea if it will right itself tbh. its sowemthing i am going back to docs about to see physio, as it is def slowing her down.

she also has a toy buggy, however she does sometimes go too fast with that and goes flying. poor luv had a nasty black eye the other week doing that

oh and v v mild cp has crossed my mind with dd4 as well, as she just doesnt use her left side as well as her right. she prefers to use her right hand for most things.
