Not that I am being grasping, you understand; but it is costing us a fortune

Can we claim any benefits?

Hi my 10 year old daughter has been diagnosed with streff syndrome and we have been told she needs visual therapy. Can anyone tell me if visual therapy works as it is very costly. We have within 10 months went from no glasses to bifocals. Her prescription has changed 4 times in under 10 months. We have had to have check ups every 2 months! Now seen a specialist who made the diagnosis. Have been told she will always need glasses even with visual therapy but it would reduce prescription for long sightedness. This is very poor. She was 8 weeks early and is very small for her age. She also has brittle asthma and has been in hospital this year alone 11 times. The specialist believes meg may have had this since she was a toddler. This is not stress related.

Hiya- can I suggest you start a new thread with your post copied into it.

I don't know about VI, but generally the benefit many dc with disabilities get is DLA- to help with extra costs
