Ds went for a Irlen Syndrome (eyes) assessment yesterday and it was found he definitely does not have this.

However ds had real difficulties and scored very low in the tracking test.

She asked whether ds had been dx'ed with Dyspraxia.

Obviously i googled as you do! and i found that dyslexia and dyspraxia were very similar and had many of the same symptoms.

Does anyone know what the difference is between them. the things that set them apart?

I've just been reading a book which says basically you're pretty unlikely to have one without the other - the motor planning & memory issues are certainly common to both

Thanks bubble, i will have a read.

Im not quite sure how ds is managing to maintain 'average' in school with all his difficulties. It must take one hell of an effort on his part.

That's what's so sad- so many of these kids are clever enough to just get by in school & noone realises they should be doing so much better.
