YANBU (there, my first use of the acronym). I keep telling myself that people stare at DS (he loves going to the doctor but hasn't quite grasped that 'waiting' thing) because he's so very handsome/they are so very bored in the boring waiting room

I hate it too and only take DS when I really have to. He hates it and it always results in a meltdown.
However, I did notice when I had to take him to a & e last year that as soon as I mentioned his ASD, we went straight to the front of the queue.

I mention ASD every time we see a doctor but they often look at you as if to say, and this is relevant why?
I had to tell the guy that, for a start, it could mean that if it hurts somewhere, my DS won't necessarily tell us

Definitely NU! Ds has had various ailments recently so I've had to take him a few times. We have him lying on the waiting room floor with everyone staring and me trying to drag him to his feet with the doctor just standing there, no one helps! Then ds acts like a whirlwind in the surgery tearing up the paper sheeting etc and the doctor makes one token attempt at listening to his chest or whatever and gives up.

The worst of it is you know you are going to be given some medicine that needs to be taken four times a day, or some cream to apply, and you know it's going to be more or less impossible.
