Good idea - send him to the club, if he should happen to have another episode they will know what action to take. If they feel he needs immediate care they will phone an ambulance or a GP or tell you to do xyz

You, like me, struggle between what is acceptable pain for a child to cope with and what needs emergency help - I think a lot of parents do

Good luck & don't feel guilty for having a break - you need it

ds2 gets calf, knee & shin pain, mainly at night but it is worse if he has been v busy.
I usually just massage & rub until it has passed.
If it is worse than normal I would def spaek to physio, our phyio team have an acute clinic that deals with pain issues so maybe they could see you if they ahve anything similar in your area??

sneezecake · 10/04/2010 17:02

are you able to strech the cramps out?

roundthebend4 · 10/04/2010 17:13

no his leg would just not stretch had totally locked up and he was screaming with ypu could see in his face how much it hurt i felt really helpless

annon atm we have no physio due to move awaiting referals but have wait till were picked up by community paeds first that wont be till end of May early june
, ds does get similar to your ds but this was way above that wondering if worth calling neuro explaining what happened

if you have no physio, go to gp & ask for appnt with acute team (usually based at hospital) they deal more with short term acute problems rather than with long term conditions who is probabily who you are waiting for an appnt with.
It may also be a back door in to getting your own physio, as if they decide your ds should not be on their books they may transfer to community team - or whatever they are called in your area.

If you think it is a neuro rather than a muscular problem then give the neuro a call or maybe he can bump you up the list.

How is he now?

roundthebend4 · 11/04/2010 17:46

He's up and down but had to rush him to hospital. As he had a big fit out of the blue then another while was in there waiting be seen by paeds .so were in while they run some tests and to observe him in case of another

At least he is in the safest place while they sort things out

Sorry he is more poorly than he was

TotalChaos · 11/04/2010 20:25

sorry to hear about the further fit. hope he gets thoroughly looked at and the hospital stay isn't too grim.
