They took the full six weeks to respond and their response was that they papers were photocopied wrong and they are requesting another 6 weeks.

In what way were they photocopied wrong?

AngryWasp · 09/04/2010 08:42

Apparently they only got every other page. It took them 6 weeks to work it out though it would seem.

If they are at fault and the time limit is up I would inform them you are contacting a solicitor and seeking Judicial Review.
Should get them moving I would imagine.

I don't think they are at fault if they got papers they can't read, but they are taking the pee waiting the full six weeks to announce it and bloody cheeky asking for another 6 weeks.

Not sure there is a lot I can do except try to make a case for why they shouldn't be allowed all of that time, but actually I don't think I care how much time they have. It will make them look stupid incompetent at the tribunal to take 2 lots of six weeks and finally come up with 'er no, we don't agree to the appeal', which is what I know they will say, and so therefore able to do the background work with assuming that to be the answer.

I would still argue that they have met the time limit tbh.
If the papers were illegible then they should have informed you on receipt and requested replacements and for the six weeks to start from their receipt.
Just check with SOSSEN though first because I think they will send a letter free of charge informing them of taking the case to Judicial Review and the LEA's generally bow down to pressure.
They are taking the piss and if you show them now you won't stand for it it should get them to buck their ideas up and give them an idea of just what sort of opponent they have in you.

LOL, I was thinking the opposite. That if I just agreed without a fuss they'd worry that I felt very sure of myself and not at all afraid or phased by their silly games (which actually I'm not funnily enough).

Absolutely! Very angry on your behalf.

The thing is, I don't want them ever to suggest that they haven't had time to do their bits and ask for an adjournment or push back the tribunal date. I want them to look stupid.

I can maybe insert it as a reason why I don't think they are able to deliver according to the rules, or that they try and bend them for their own interests. I have other examples of this, and this one may well get the tribunal onside!?
