Does anyone else find it totally annoying when some health care provider leaves a message on your answerphone to TELL you that they will be calling round to see you and your child on Friday at 3.

I think it shows a total lack of respect for my time. I actually work almost full time but they assume because I have a special needs child I have nothing better to do than sit at home waiting for them to visit.

Sorry for ranting but it makes me angry.

I know what you mean-not once has any single health professional asked me if i work/have other children/childcare to consider when booking appointments...in fact following one very memorable meeting with the school they all nearly fell over when I mentioned I might have to go to work at some point during the endless assessments and appointments...

I'm an HCP and I'd never dream of telling you I was coming to see you - I'd negotiate a convenient time.

However, sometimes you phone and phone and can't get a reply so in the end you sy you'll come at a specific time unless they phone back to re-arrange.

They often don't bother to re-arrange, so I turn up and they're out.

Not sure how to address this really - but it's a terrible waste of my clinical time. Not all HCPs are bad, you know. And there are some very annoying parents, too.
