I'm tempted to write:

Does DLA REALLY cover taxis, medical respite, stairgates, special food, playschemes, photocopying, postage, days off work, essential wheelchair accessories, petrol, nappies etc.

and:

Your forms are a joke!

'Yes my son STILL needs sodding care STILL needs supervision , and wow he actually hasn't magically grown out of being disabled for life...'

(incidentally I copy and paste from previous forms, print off computer and stick in... saves energy!)

Do you think CP is curable or that DS will grow out of it?
And the catastrophic intractable epilepsy syndrome..........magically gone away?????

I am honestly always tempted to write 'see part X where I have explained this in detail' to every repetitive question.

And if I've explained that DS can not walk, or see and has frequent seizures can you not just take that and run with it? He will need help when outdoors, to bathe, to dress, at night, to eat etc. etc. etc.

Oh, and your forms depress the hell out of me, is it your intention to make it such a chore so that we won't apply???

Similar to others, am always tempted to write "DD has not magically grown missing bones since the last application" the whole lifelong disabled thing doesn't seem to get through to them!

I did ds's form yesterday. I had a lovely lady here from AMAZE and she was here for 5 hours!(typing constantly I might add whilst helping me with the bits I was filling in and asking me questions about ds). It just shows how completely ridiculous the forms are when this lady who does about 3 forms a week takes this long, how do they expect us parents to be able to do it properly? This is the first time I've had help and I still found it stressful although it was heaps better and hopefully we will get a good result.

However I was sorely tempted to send an invitation to one of the DLA staff to look after ds for a couple of hours, they would come to a conclusion much quicker than I could fill out the forms.

OR, just write "please send more money as ds really wants his own pony, thank you", since we are obviously filling in these forms for fun!

I'm not well at the mo and that has made me laugh out loud. Unfortunately it does hurt my tonsilitis-y throat, but it was worth it

I believe easter eggs are good for sore throats .

Phoenix4725 · 02/04/2010 09:03
