Yes, if it doesn't snow.

still in the throes of toilet training ds1. three weeks in and some success - he is 5.6 and asd. just put him on, put him on, put him on the toilet. that was the only thing seemed to work!! now running to go himself and not too many accidents. also bribery positive reinforcement by way of treats when he did well. not as bad as i thought it would be - but he is quite "old" if you know what i mean - absolutely could not have countenanced it any earlier given how he is.

famous last words........just after posting few minutes ago, went out to check on ds1 who was in the toilet trying to manhandle a poo round the u-bend with the nail brush!! too much time on mumsnet!??

Hope it goes well Marne - I am attempting to toilet train DD (3.9 ASD) at them moment. She has been going to nursery in pants for the last five weeks and for the past couple of weeks has been managing to keep herself totally dry which I am pleased about. She just saves it all up and wets herself 3/4 times in the afternoon at home . She will just not release anything on the toilet! I am at a total loss - keep us updated on how it goes for your DD.

Have been attempting to toilet train DS1 for 4 years now! 2 steps forward, 2 steps back with the wee. Still waiting for the elusive poo and have given up with coaxing of any sort in that regard.

Can't help but think that DS2, who is almost 4 and shows no interest in the toilet will get there first.

I might, too, given that DS has been utterly into his penis for days and taking his nappy off. I don't think he's ready at 2.10 but it's worth a try perhaps. He is certainly "aware" of his piddle having done it on the floor and slipped on it recently

will we be attempting dd2, as poo smearing is getting too much. good luck to all of us then

philosophymum · 31/03/2010 13:34

I'll join you! My DS (4.5, ASD) is off to a reasonable start - if you take him to the toilet he'll do a wee, and he's dry at nursery, but he won't poo on the toilet. I'm probably going to start by putting him in pants and taking him every hour when we're at home, and show him the 'toilet' card when I take him.

I have been thinking about it too Marne! As landlord is selling up and kicking us out of our rented house in the next few months I couldn't care less about the carpet!! Problem is dd absolutely hates the potty and won't go anywhere near it but couldn't physically get onto the toilet. Is also perfectly happy sitting in wet training pants

That is a disturbing stage miladydewinder - I remember it well from ds!

Eveiebaby -Well done to your dd for being dry, last time we tried (before x-mas) dd2 would stay dry through out the morning, refuse to do anything on the potty or toilet and then pee all over the place in the afternoon . We had a few days where she was pooing on the potty because she was constapated and knew when she needed to go but as soon as she was back to normal she started pooing in her nappy again.

Dd1 (AS) would not use the toilet until she started school but would use the potty.
