try putting it as a heading here/special needs education and in secondary(education). Wish I could help....otherwise NAS website has an autismdirectory.org ? click on education/region and a list of schools with descriptions come up...also try mumsnet local (Surrey) and see if you get a response their...oh and NAS Surrey branch may be able to put you in contact with families or have insight into schools in area also??
HTH!

I'm a secondary teacher and to be honest some autistic children thrive in mainstream and some don't. It often depends on the particular behaviours a child exhibits. I would visit the special schools and see if they are right for your child, if he thrived in main stream primary he may well do in secondary too. Many LEAs have one of their mainstream schools with an autism 'unit' attached.

Hit the advanced search button with key words...SEN Surrey schools etc that might come up with something.

If ds survived (is that the right word?) primary then is secondary an option? I searched all over UK for schools on NAS! I do it every couple weeks hoping ds 'dream' school will turn up [sigh]
It's so stressful having to make these choices SEN or MS. Take your time and go with your 'gut' feelings I guess (and research research research!!!!) Good luck

Go and visit both. IME Sn schools have more able children in the secondary school then primary and more as they get older. Some schools do more than others SN or MS, just look out for a child of similar ability to your DS
