at just 4 skipping is not a universal skill, nor is hopping. Children who have practised may be able to do it, they need to build up balance skills and muscles to be "able" to hop. Skipping is downright tricky, even after 2 terms of dance class ( and having skipping explained and practising)not all the group DS goes to can skip.

daily wetting... some do some don't.

Are preschool concerned ? are you concerned? Are there other things your DD can do like climb , pedal, throw , walk along a line, hit/kick a ball, clap, crawl under tables, as well or better than peers.

dear UniS thanks for your post. She is a happy lively little girl and her nursery teachers are happy with her progress and say everything is within a normal range for her age.
her fine motor skills are good - she draws and attempts letters quite happily. She is a demon on her scooter - which she learnt to ride at 2 so you are right i should not worry. The wetting drives me bonkers - as i often think its because she cant be bothered to go until she is almost beside herself and then cant get to the loo in time...she still wears a pull-up at night which is usually soaking in the morning - i know i should not compare but her big bro was dry at night by the tiem he was 3 1/2.... xx

pengimum - my sn child was dry waaaaaaay before the other two. definitely not a cause for concern.
i've watched dd2's dance class recently - at 6 there are a few of the girls who have just managed reliable skipping - last year they all looked v sweet, but hadn't a clue.

dd1 (now 10) eventually became reliably dry during the day in the summer holiday between yr r and yr 1. and was 8 or 9 when she came out of pull-ups.

if nursery are happy (and from what you've said there seem to be no real warning signs) i wouldn't worry at all. some areas do offer a clinic for school children with daytime wetting issues (so from next year if it is still an issue) but night time wetting is considered entirely normal until 7.
