Trikes/ASD

Last year i tried to teach dd1 to ride a bike but she doesn't seem to be able to balance and pedal (she slips off the seat and her legs struggle to pedal), then she had a nasty fall and she refused to try again. A few people have said i could get funding for a trike but i don't think we will stand a chance of getting one as dd1 only has mild Aspergers (i have a feeling she has dyspraxia but i can't convince anyone to refer her). Is it possible to buy a trike for an older child (6+) for a reasonable price or will it cost the earth.

Also dd2 (ASD) would love a trike, her balance is better than dd1's but she won't keep her feet on the pedals or pedal.

Ideally we would be looking to get 1 trike that they can both use as we have not got the space to store 2 trikes.

Has anyone managed to get funding for a trike for a child with ASD? Are they made to suit each child or could the dd's share one?

When I was contemplating ordering a trike for DS2, I found a good range here, but they do cost the earth compared with a typical bike for a 6 year old. They can be freewheeled though, so DD2 wouldn't get repeatedly clobbered by the pedals.
