It is becoming much more obvious that he struggles with staying on topic.
What i mean is for instance we are 'reading' a book, well looking at pics and talking about them. DS cannot focus for very long on what i say or ask.
He can manage 2 mins, then starts doing his own things such as counting the animals or the wheels on the lorry, or going through all the different colours he can see(he has recently learned his colours and is always going on about them) even if we are not talking about colours at the time,...that sort of thing.
Or he will ask a question, and before i have finished giving him the answer , he has moved on to the next page or will ask another question, or he won't take notice of my answers very well... this doesn't apply to just books, he is like that in many situations.
Is a part of the difficulty with social communication i read in books?
Thanks.

my ds 4 next week no dx yet but has language delay and autistic tendencies, he is like this his comcentration span is so short, i find reading a few sentences on on page before half way down he is already turning the page, dont think he can do 2 things at once, ie, look at the pictures and listen to what i say, its like he goes in his own world.
