DS is 4 and ASD, speech delayed amongst others. Got to share this little piece with you. This morning DS and i are walking down to the language unit which he attends. Along the way there is a small car park opposite to where we cross the road. DS starts going on about 2 blue car, 3 red cars,...
2.5 hours later we are walking back and pass the car park again, he says '3 cars... gone mummy,3!! 2 new cars , 2!!' OMG!!! Could he have scanned and memorized how many cars there were, which had gone and which had arrived! I was gobsmacked.
I must add there were about 8 or 9 cars parked there and about a similar amount later. Unlike him i didn't count them...lol!!
Bloody good memory and attention to details are obviously DS' talents... DS the next 'sherlock holmes'?

That is lovely, well done to your DS

Funni;ly enough I saw the new Sherlock Holmes recently and the way it's filmed when he is taking in the visuals made me wonder if that's how some children with ASD see things... don't know if Guy Richie planned it that way.

Seen it too, i see what you mean, it's a bit weird how they slow down everything when he takes in the visuals isn't it, very sensory actually.

Just had a quick Google and it seems many people think Holmes had HFA.

Your son could well be a useful troll-hunter on here in a few years too with his knack for detail
