The F***** LEA part 6

Went to see the alternative provision at the other school yesterday. Have turned it down. They just haven't got the history there and it is being thrown together with no detail, really, of what they will offer. Have made an appointment to see the LEA next Wednesday to 'negotiate'. Am going to ask for mornings in Early Years with 1:1 and specific ASD input plus afternoons ABA funded for the whole school year or until a unit space becomes available. Whaddayoureckon? DD hasn't had a nursery placement yet and the new research says 20 hrs ABA plus specialist Early Years setting is best for youngsters.

Got it in writing!!!!!!
Full ABA funding for autumn term starting in September with a therapist going in as her 1:1 9-12. Spring term, therapist goes in Monday mornings to 'supervise' and check everything is going smoothly, TA support other four days, which I'm cool about by that point. Summer term, same. Afternoons ABA for the whole year. Funding only reduced by 12 hours therapist time for spring and summer terms and maintain workshops etc. I really feel so positive now. It's not a unit place, but it's a pretty good compromised. And I had a lovely chat with the deputy head and we were both brimmming over with positivity. HURRAH!!!

Well done, JakB! I'm glad you got it in writing too.

Yeah! Feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I've also got them to put it in writing that the unit is the most appropriate provision and that DD will be considered for it during the academic year if a place comes up as well as for next September.

Hurrah! No part 7 then?

I hope not, Davros! The crunch comes again next September if there is still no place but I'm hopeful that's not going to happen.
