Teeth grindding

My daughter is 4 and recently was diagnosed with complex social communication disorder. She often grinds her teeth and not just during the day, but during the night as well. Her front teeth are moving, which is normal, but I was wondering if anyone has an idea to get her to stop grindding her teeth. I`m scared her teeth might break/crack due to this.

Hi

My DD used to do this, day and night. No CSCD but I spoke to our dentist about it at the time and he said it was a phase she'd grow out of but like you, I was worried she'd do some damage.

In the end, I tried to distract her when she did it, it was more of a habbit than anything else after a while so I tried to break the cycle IYSWIM and it worked. Getting her to use her mouth when she starts to do it will help - eating, chatting, singing, mumbling, anything that opens her mouth a little, blowing bubbles, whatever it takes......

Hope it helps
