Where can I find the following sensory toys...?

Any leads on this greatly received. I'm trying to find the following:

small hard spikey/bumpy ball for massage / sensory stimulation
small squidgy toy (sensory stimulation)
small vibrating toy that can be put up to a child's cheek / round the mouth to stimulate oral muscles.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful!!

Brio

Try Hawkins Bazarre- i got a load of sensory stuff for ds stocking at xmas.

get your squidgy stuff from the novelty warehouse for about £2.

will those ball things from JML to 'cut your tumble drying time in half' do the job?

If not try Physiomed and/or Nottingham Rehab supplies and/or homecraft ability one.

I would do links but my battery is just about to run out.

Hi Brio. I got some sensory bits for ds from Asda - rubbery spiky sqishy toys of various sizes for £1 each. Tesco and have a wooden massage thing with rounded wooden spikes (may not be hard enough).HTH

I was going to say Novelty Warehouse too - here - loads of useful stuff, and most of it not too expensive either!

There's also Spacekraft here. Good range of things, but I have found them to be quite pricey.

special needs toys are quite good, not sure if they have what oyu are looking for though, possibly more toys iyswim?

a few nice small massager type things here - I think thye ship internationally 9not sure why I'd have them bookmarked otherwise!)

we had these balls

We used a children's battery toothbrush for oral stimulation for DD2 - you can use the soft head, or slip things over the end. I tried things like cutting the finger off a pair of rubber gloves and putting that over the end, wrapping bubble wrap or a soft piece of fleece around, etc.

Poundland had loads of sensory stuff in, picked up £10 worth for DS2 for school.

JML also do a vibrating massager which ds2 loves. Think it was only £5 from Tesco.

Wow, you guys are quick!
Reason I'm asking is I'm in the UK next week so am grateful for places to check out. Have already got move'n'sit cushion and gym ball being delivered to my MIL while I'm there
Thanks so much for all the suggestions (although i confess I'm baffled by the tumble drying balls. Being without tumble dryer that one has obviously passed me by! )

I recently used Novelty Warehouse and I thought they had lots of great stuff

feelingbetter · 25/02/2010 21:32

tumble dryer balls!

Phew! Plugged in now.
Asda were still doing the squidgy things for £1 when I was there last weekend.

I have also used Novelty warehouse and been very happy with them.

I once bought from learning space (prolly bout a year ago now) and they were fab. VERY quick delivery, stuff bought still going strong!
