he has a selection of joysticks depending what mood he's in, a regular round ball one, a T shape he can clutch his fingers round and a cloverleaf shaped one that he can use with the palm/ball of his hand, but at the moment all he is interested in is pressing the switches to go up & down, not bad for a boy who hates switches that click & normally cant hit a switch to save himself!

yeah, think they have a few kids who use headswitches but im not sure how it controls it.
they are on facebook too, might be an easy way to ask the question without a phonecall?

Make sure you keep the battery topped up - we have just had to send our outdoor one away because its battery conked out (out of warranty) - so quite an expensive job!

Not that she uses it when its so cold - can't wait for the warmer weather to get out and about!

Enjoy your freedom!

glittery · 10/02/2010 11:14

yeah they told me to keep it on trickle charge when its not being used, only pennies a year apparently and you cant over charge it.
luckily i also got a 5 year maintenance package so all the seating adjustments, servicing, tyres, batteries etc are covered, only thing i need to pay for is anything that ds manages to break!

You can get insurance for that - dd2 has 3rd party

glittery · 10/02/2010 12:06

is that liability insurance or just the chair insurance? can i ask how much it cost?

OP posts:
meltedmarsbars · 10/02/2010 12:34

We have fish insurance for home helps - and they also do wh/ch, they are very helpful, here, but I'm sure there are other companies too.

Its about £60 to £80 pa.

glittery · 10/02/2010 13:29

brilliant, lovely pic

meltedmarsbars · 10/02/2010 14:47

Glittery, its only worth it if you are going to take it where you might damage some-one else's car/foot/child.

We only go up our (v rural) lane with ours, so didn't bother for a long time.

glittery · 10/02/2010 16:41

might wait a bit then!

How cool does he look! He actually looks a lot bigger in it compared to the last photos. He has such a gorgeous smile.
