Toe-walking

Presumably this means walking on tip-toes?
Does anybody know why it is given as one of the signs of being on autistic spectrum? I thought walking around everywhere on tip-toes was a normal, childish thing to do when you're little.
I realise it shouldn't be considered in isolation for ASD, but just curious...

Yes, means walking on tip-toes. Like you say, lots of children enjoy walking on tiptoe and many babies start by walking on tiptoe and progress to flat feet. However, is considered a problem if muscles become too tight as a result of constant toe walking or if it hinders walking or activity in any way.

Not sure about ASD as my experience is more with CP but possibly a sensory thing if not a motor disorder?

Think its a sensory thing in Autism as bottom of feet incredibly sensitive.
