Hi there
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this? Dd2 is already statemented and the statement has to be amended for her moving to fulltime provision in Sept.

How did your LEA do this, and at what point? Ours is trying to do it now, based on an informal review meeting in Oct and basically cocking it up. Already have IPSEA involved, but just looking for any personal experiences to compare. (And also looking for strength to do all the fighting all over again!! ).

My boy went into reception from nursery but only afternoons - actually that worked really well as tbh all they really do in th pm's is play, so it's pretty much like nursery. Apparently they "deliver the curriculum" in the mornings, though I'm not sure if this is the case at all schools. Is that phased approach an option for you?

Yes, we're planning to take a phased approach with her just doing mornings initially as that is her best time of day - gets very tired and soon to be investigated for sleep apnea.

Did you have to get that written into his statement? How many hours support did/does he get?

I got it written into his statement that there would be a "graduated pattern of increasing inclusion in mainstream, according to progress" and he is supported every moment he is in school, he couldn't cope alone. Make sure you get the "according to progress" bit in, as that is subjective and can be argued in your favour later on. I am now fighting to keep him half and half, and that sentence means evidence has to be produced, which they don't have, plus my ABA tutors CAN provide evidence that he still needs home ABA. LEAs are not allowed to say things like "all kids must be in full time school by aged 6 or 7" as that is a "blanket policy", and as such it's unlawful (they are supposed by law to look at kid's individual needs, not just lump them altogether!)

Well done - looks like you got things worded very much to your advantage!

What stage in the year before moving to Reception did you get the statement amended ie. what month. They are trying to rush ours with rubbish evidence because they are spouting on about it having to be in line with general admissions to Reception. We're pretty sure it doesn't, and should wait till after full Annual Review meeting in April (when we will be more ready). Think they're trying to pull a fast one
