...do you think I should apply??!!!
I'm quite tempted, not sure I know enough about all the legal side but could probably find out. What's mostly putting me off though is the chance of finding out that my hands will be tied and I can't do anything to help - or that I can't take the LEA to tribunal for DS's statement in the future. Might find out good info though for others...

god, how tempting

but seeing as we have an appeal underway, I don't think I'd be top of the list for employment

actually, could you apply?

our tribunal likely to be in June, so lots of time for you to settle in beofre sorting out our case

ooh - it poses all sorts of interesting issues doesn't it!!
I wonder if anybody there actually has a disabled child or knows the first thing about the realities.

I saw that. (Seems we have the same LA?)

The jobd makes it fairly clear (in between-the-lines, you-can't-pin-anything-on-us weasel words ) that you would be expected to toe the party line. But I did look at it speculatively...

Yes I know starlight, I don't think I could do that job knowing what an impact it has, I also think it would eat me up. Am steering clear I think, maybe when DS has finished his education!

Quotes from job description
'SEN Tribunal Officers will need to have an up-to-date knowledge of current SEN legislation, statutory procedures and processes in order to be able to quickly assimilate information and make informed decisions often under short time constraints. A high proportion of the SEN Tribunal Officer?s role is working directly with parents, schools, parental appointed legal representatives and other professional bodies within the statutory and legal framework related to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal process.'

Education, Training and Work Qualifications
Essential:
Substantial experience or an equivalent level qualification in SEN.
Proven track record of complex case management in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Not quite sure what to take from that but that's the pertinent bits of the job description.
