And we have a hosp appt in the middle (for what, I have no idea! - don't recognise the consultants name !)

Got any help booked? Trips out with contingency plans? Suggestions?

We will be hoping for weather good enough to at least take the boys out for daily walks, but with 2 of them to chase on my own, we will actually be avoiding any local activities and making our own entertainment.

It can't possibly be as bad as October half term, when DS1 had the pukes and then was in a vile temper as he was recovering - spent the best part of 2 days screaming and tantrumming :/

Lots of Chelsea buns! . And MN....going to be brave and attempt to take them to the Natural History Museum in London, as there's nothing local to me that I can do that covers all 3 of them, either DD is too old/tall or DS2 is too young/small or the activities don't allow for the combination of needs in my family. Too much TV? We play a lot of board games as well, like Uno Moo or Piranha Panic etc. Younger games that we can all play together.

northernsky - can you not drive into London? I've given up on trains and tubes with ds.

I keep meaning to apply for congestion charge exemption so we can go in on a weekday during hols.

chopstheduck · 05/02/2010 08:36

btw, both the musuem of London, and the national science musuem have prebookable disabled parking. Not sure if any others have.

must admit i hate london dont venture up there often at all too busy for me lol but im going to brave it with ds so he can see some dinosaurs just nervous about the 1half train journey but fingers crossed all will be well

Phoenix4725 · 05/02/2010 19:07

bubblagirl /i enjoy London but also do enjoy coming home.Mind now only 20 min train from London

CardyMow · 05/02/2010 23:18

I take their nintendo ds's with earphones as it 'concentrates' them on something other than the environment on the train...works for me! . (I'd never get through the hour on the train otherwise!)

bubblagirl · 06/02/2010 09:53

phoenix i dont mind london but have always been so nervous with ds as takes 1hr 30 on train to get there and if melt down arises or he wants to get off panics me just the thought lol

also the hustle and bustle up there i worry will be too much for him so its not london so much its the business and the fact it can go either way with ds but still were going to chance it i am going with another mum from school and her son who is in ds class he has come along way since starting school so fingers crossed

hope your ok anyway phoenix been along time since caught up with you x

borderslass · 06/02/2010 10:53

dd1 is looking after ds for a few days so dh and I get a break on our own,we've not had time on our own together for about 12 years.

meltedmarsbars · 06/02/2010 11:45

We do the London Museums thing on our GOSH trips - go on the train, take all the dc's and spend the second half of the day in a museum, then come home late.

Might go to the museum of Childhood in Sudbury Hall if I can find a friend to go with - dh working.

Borderslass - enjoy your trip away -watch out you don't end up with another dc!!!
