I hadnt really thought this far ahead, as always fighting for dx and now we have it, high functioning autism. Have called SENCO she is going to look in setting up a social skills group that is better targeted for dd1.
Now Im stuck, i dont know what to do, does that sound really stupid. We were given so much paper work yesterday to read though but sufddenly without the need to fight, it seems weird.
Im sure Im not making any sense at all

Hi

I don't know the background here and hope that I've got the right end of the stick but no, you're making perfect sense. You, as you said, have fought and fought for so long that now you have it in black and white, confirmaion of what is actually wrong with DD1, it's a shock to the system. It's like - "Oh, right. That's that then! What do I do now?"

The paperwork is a required evil. It'll do your head in having to read it all too. Just take a deep breath, have a cup of tea (or whatever!) and call a friend for a live chat.

Hope it goes well from here on in

hmmm very intresting, Im just not sure as she does so well educationally. She is on G&T in 3 subjects and they are all jumping up and down about what her sats results will be.
All I want is someone, once a week to go in and spend time talking to her, helping her deal with her fears and worries and trying to find way to keep her calm and relaxed. her teachers are good, but tbh they havent been very proactive, I have had to make the suggestions, which they are happy to do, but should not take me to tell them iyswim.
I will ask to meet with SENCO in next few weeks.
Do I need their backing? can I kick it all off myself?
