I'm looking for swimming aids (not nappies!)

for a physically disabled dd2 who is 7 and not much cop in water.

She can thrash about when held, but apart from a full-on life-jacket, what would you recommend as a swim aid?

Btw her shoulders spontaneously dislocate and she has hypotonia++.

Any ideas?

Hi everyone,
Have you seen this?
www.reboundtherapy.org/hydrotherapy it is an invention called Sensafloat and it's fabulous!

DGS with CP loves this and impossible to dip his head underwater as its got a waistcoat type addition to the rubber ring. Easy to get on and off and no reason to put extra strain on his shoulder joints.

PS The largest size is up to age 8

oooh we had one of them! i thought it was great, still had to hold ds's head up but his head control is rubbish anyway!

DGS can hold his head up in it glittery, but prefers to lick the ring and try to lick the pool water, but his little skinny legs do some brilliant kicking and we haven't managed to drown him yet in it! Definitely worth a try and not expensive at all compared to SN stuff.

Ds would try and drink the water too! Grin
