Getting a SN buggy - anyone used an Ito?

DD2 is getting a SN buggy next week - we've been waiting for it for several months, and just had a call to say it's here. She's 2.5 and still teeny-tiny, but she has the beginnings of scoliosis and needs better support for her back - hence the referral a few months back to wheelchair services.

The wheelchair people were lovely to DD2 and me, and I feel quite positive, generally, about this 'next step'. The buggy we agreed on is the Alvema Ito - wondered if anyone has experience of using it? (Link is here) It seemed reasonably lightweight and easy to push, fold, etc when I saw it - and the best bit was that DD2 really perked up in it and seemed to be much more 'part' of things than when she's slumped in her 'normal' buggy.

It feels like a significant step because it means that DD2 will now be 'visibly' disabled - I don't mind that (in some ways it'll be a relief) but like everything else about DD2's condition, it'll take a bit of adjusting to. I do worry though that it'll be a pain on public transport etc - I guess we'll just have to find ways of managing.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Oooh, we are in the same place. Getting our Kimba Spring on friday. Feel about the same as you - thrilled and excited for DS to be getting what he needs, positive about this 'in-betweeny' step, but at the same time a bit knowing its a wheelchair next. Part of that is that my little DS is growing up (sob!)

Funny thing though that since we went for assessment, I have notices loads of SN buggies whilst out and about and I'm fairly certain I'd never seen a single one before.

So, I'm looking forward to it with a bit of a resigned 'ah well' (you know)

I hope it goes well and it is just what she needs xx
