Because DS2 was on a school trip all day today, and he needs 1-2-1 on school trips,as do 4 others in his class, I had to go with him to help. So the coach got back late, which meant I was all of 10 minutes late home. I tried to text DD to let her know, but I got no answer. I got home to find her standing outside (she has a key, but struggles to open the door, it's 'sticky' in this weather). Now bear in mind that I was only ten minutes late. She has used her key to scratch all over my front door, which means that on our landlord inspection next month, I'm going to get charged £400 to replace it. . All because I was late so she didn't get her after school snack on time. I know it costs that much to replace as she's already done this once since September and it's one of those new fangled ones where the 'sticky out bits' go into the door frame. FFS I don't have that sort of money right now. I've sat her on her bed (so I don't bloody KILL her), but she doesn't even realise why I'm annoyed......AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

No DS1 had a wonderful night on Friday where he up-chucked(but only in the toilet, he's well trained ). But he was fine for school this morning. STILL haven't told him......not going to either.....if he hasn't noticed by now!...have site inspection in two weeks so I've 6 weeks to find the money.

HA HA HA, ignorance is bliss re the buns!! Lovin it!!

Glad DS is ok for school and DD is back today, especially if your to-do list is like mine - never, ever ending!!! Good luck with the FF. Hope they say yes. I wish I had a magic wand some days and a money tree in the garden! Let me know how you get on. Is there anyway you can repair the door rather than replace? Is it worth asking the inspector? Sorry, forget that last stupid comment - we both know it's not!! Putting it down to no sleep last night, DS thought he'd be an owl!!

CardyMow · 09/02/2010 21:06

Didn't get to the FF. Started the day with no water except for the cold kitchen tap. Had to wait the best part of the day for the HA's emergency plumber to come out, turns out there were two pumps that had failed at the same time or something, so plumber was rushing around to find parts as I have 3 DC's and didn't even have one toilet that flushed. All fixed now though.

So, did you get to talk to the FF? And what little drama has today thrown at you?

waitingforgodot · 12/02/2010 12:55

Loudlass, the FF are trying to get applications through by end of the financial year so this is the best time to be applying apparently.

And I got the best letter ever through the post yesterday...my DLA renewal for myself. BAH! (Now hunting for the photocopy of the old form so I don't fluff it up). Just your usual run of the mill SN family tripe!

OP posts:
waitingforgodot · 12/02/2010 14:47

Loudlass-you can apply online. Just google family fund. Good luck! Hope your week gets better!

CardyMow · 12/02/2010 22:38

Cheers. Had a crappy really bad day with DS2, he had an inset day today, and was really thrown by the change in routine, and has been...err...away with the fairies, in his own world...today. It is soooo frustrating that most of the time he's OK, but the minute the school hols start, it's like I lose him to another planet for the first few days. And DD's bursitis has flared up again, so she's been whining about her sore knee (that she refuses to let the GP drain), so have had to strap her up in tubigrip again.

Loudlass, you can request funding for more than one item from FF, they have space on the form for three items. I've heard that they give bigger grants to first-time applicants, so don't be afraid to ask for a few things. They'd rather allocate the money than just return it to the pot at the end of the year.

CardyMow · 13/02/2010 23:54

. What would be the likelyhood of getting a large trampoline out of them, as DD has outgrown the bouncette that she was using to calm down on, the climbing frame has fallen to bits is unsafe, and am going mental with no real way to calm her down? I know it's an odd ask, but the big ones you can chuck a 12yo on are mental money about £300. Which I don't have....TBH the only things I really want/need are a holiday at a caravan park and the trampoline.

OP posts:
sugarcandymountain · 14/02/2010 08:37

Yes, on the website there is a list of things that they can help with - trampolines are quite common! Also games consoles, computer, payment for sports activities, appliances.

You can download a pdf form here It is quite long but the good news is, once you have filled it in once, you can apply once a year and just fill in a simple form for subsequent years.

CardyMow · 14/02/2010 17:01

Do you need microsoft office in order to fill it in? Because it downloaded the pdf but won't let me fill any of it in? I don't have office. Or do you need to print it out? My printer is broken as well. I was going to put a printer as the third thing on my list! I'm very technologically inept, and can't work out what to do!

OP posts:
sugarcandymountain · 14/02/2010 17:47

I think you have to print it out - I had the printed version but I picked it up at the local childrens centre. You can email them to ask for a form to be sent to you, just write with your address: [email protected]

Mouseface · 23/02/2010 14:50

Hey Loudlass

Are you ok? Not seen you posting on here for a while. I've been in hosp with DS but you don't seem to be on here at the mo. How did you get on with the inspection from the housing? How is the situation with DP?

If you think I'm intruding - sorry. Just concerned you're ok and haven't been burried under a tonne of chelsea buns, and now you're having to eat your way to freedom!!

claig · 23/02/2010 16:52

Mouseface, she is in hospital with pneumonia.
Could use lots of cheering up

Oh

Thanks so much claig, have posted using the link. Really nice of you as I was worried.

CardyMow · 25/02/2010 15:35

I'm Baaaack!! . Have come home to an appointment letter for Tascc, have missed DD's parents evening, so I have to book 12 separate appointments with her teachers when I'm well enough to move, HA have decided they WON'T charge me for the door this time as they're going to re-paint everyone's as it's been 5 yrs, and MUST MUST MUST get around to phoning family fund when I can actually breathe well enough for someone on the other end of the phone to understand what I'm saying, and not think I'm making dirty phonecalls with the heavy breathing lol. Wish I had been buried under a ton of chelsea buns, it would have been considerably more nutritious than the hospital food...I've lost half a stone in a week in there!! Need to order DD's birthday presents online as I won't be well enough to get to the shops before her birthday.

And Mouseface-what's wrong with your DS? And I hope the food they feed him in hospital is more edible than the rubbery rubbish they were dishing me up.....

OP posts:
Mouseface · 25/02/2010 16:53

Glad you're back! Shame about the buns, had visions of you lay there, just munching slowly through them!!

DS has heart issues, amoungst other things but this surgery was to repair his soft palate (has huge cleft in hard yet to be repaired) - have posted an update so won't bore you, you can read it if you want "UPDATE - I don't want to take him back" It's here somewhere. But in a nutshell, he ended up fighting for his life - AGAIN. I'm worn out and need to get my life back on track. I have SPD or pelvic girdle pain and go to physio / hydro twice a week but need to go back to consultant as can't rest due to having DS with SN or additional reqiurements as I like to call it!!! Physically and emotionally, I'm knackered. In pain all the time too

He's tube fed and refuses solids (a very long and emotional story, one that makes me feel I've failed ) so he didn't have to endure the sh1t that hospitals serve up! I however, was turffed off the ward once he was rushed to PICU and had to sleep on a camp bed in a lounge, not great for my condition! Looked like a right sad bugger, crutches and bags in tow. Struggling to open doors etc. Frickin staff have no idea how hard life is without nowhere to stay! They needed his bed so goodbye mummy. We live 2 hours away from hospital too so no choice but to bunk down.

Anyway, hope you've slept since you last posted. It's fab you don't have to pay for the door too!! NICE ONE!! How are things with DP? Let the dust settle with DC and all order will resume, eventually! Now that the boss is back anyway!! That's me done, time's up! DS is at that piercing, wining stage and needs my undivided. Catch up tomorrow.

Take care of you x
