Hello I have a two year old with severe speech delays and behavioural problems. We are seeing paediatrition next month,
SALT and SENCO (nursery) are helping get the 'green forms' sorted.
What are they please and what should I expect?
Also will the fact he has these put schools off him joining? I know they can't oficially discrimminate but wondered if children with additional needs are less likely to be offered a space at over subscribed schools.
Thank You for reading, would really appreciate any info

I dont know what these green forms are. They could be the forms they complete and submit to the LEA highlighing the need for supportive when they start school. Ask for a copy of the form, this shouldnt be a problem. My little boy had behaviour problems +++ in nursery and severe speech delay. Seen by everyone, IEP's everything, he became a very sad and anxious child until they found out at they end of infants that he was severely dyslexic, he had a severe memory problems so found it hard to follow instructions and that he had auditory processing problems (could hear well, but couldnt process the information). Ask the paed to exclude learning difficulties, they wont be able to diagnose until they are 6 yrs old, but the nursery/school could be sensitive to his needs until it can be excluded. Schools and nurserys are not allowed to discriminate, but some schools are better than others, look around, ask other parents.

If your child gets a statement then actually you get first pick, along with looked after children and sometimes faith criteria.

have you found the IPSEA website yet?
