ds's school is open tomorrow!

I am unbelievably grateful and thankful not to mention utterly relieved and gloriously thrilled.

He's been off Weds/Thurs/Fri and his playscheme was cancelled on Saturday. He is so hyper, so full of energy and so bloody loud that the taxi can't come soon enough

Same here

heard earlier that dd1's school is open again tomorrow, and the sheer relief was unbelievable!

Never has an early start been so preferable over a lie-in

MannyMoeAndJack · 10/01/2010 20:24

Oh yes, I'll leap out of bed in the morning, fresh as a daisy .

Thing is, ds needs to be out of the house for expended periods every single day. He doesn't do staying indoors

same with dd1, she needs to get outside, jsut for her sanity...

and when she's lumbered with a sister wh won't set foot in the snow, getting outside in this weather can be a bit tricky.

I have managed to coax dd2 outside once, and we built snowmen, but that's it (not helped by the fact that dd2 won't wear a coat, gloves or boots, and then moands about being cold - sensory issues? never! )

MannyMoeAndJack · 10/01/2010 20:37

er, extended!

It's been so cold that even half an hour in the garden was really enough!

my boy's has been open since Thursday but he's only going back tomorrow as the roads weren't safe to travel he's ecstatic he never shows a happy emotion but he had a big grin on his face when I told him.

meltedmarsbars · 10/01/2010 20:45

And shouldn't we add that WE need them to go out for the sake of our sanity too?

silverfrog · 10/01/2010 20:46

oh, definitely

I'm sure that's why dd1 was so happy at the news - she won't have a shrieking harpy for a mum tomorrow (fingers crossed )!

MannyMoeAndJack · 10/01/2010 20:55

borderlass, that's lovely about your ds

and melted, yes, I don't even try to deny the fact that my ds going to school is as much for my benefit as it is for his!

There is a God.

I have never in my life been so grateful for rain.

LOL at NS and Ouryve.

I realise that many parents complain about having their kids at home under their feet all day but having dc who can play or who can amuse themselves for hours at a stretch or who can join the local kids outside for a snowball fight....well there really is no comparison with my caged, wild-savage of a boy bouncing off the walls with undissipated energy at home all day is there?!
