fingers crossed2shoes have you been able to check on the roads at all?

2snowshoes · 07/01/2010 10:20

getting a little bit pissed of now
yesterday it was about the roads.
today it seems to be about whether they are allowed to go and pick her up in case they break down!!!
so wtf do I do
she is 16 miles away and I want her home

oh how frustrating, 2shoes

I have sent a text to my friend who lives near your dd's school (that's where she has respite, isn't it?) to ask what the weather/roads.general life is like down there.

I spoke to her yesterday and it was pretty bad - she had been up here with me babysitting for us on Tues night, and then made a break for it Weds morning beofre the snow got really bad. She got inot sussex ok, but then got stuck at the supermarket, and again on her drive...

I'll let you know what she says when I hear.

silverfrog · 07/01/2010 11:02

hmm, well not brilliant news, tbh.

my friend says they've got abut a foot of snow, and it's snowing again, quite heavily. She sin't venturing out apart form to give the dogs a quick run on the common (and even then the dogs have to be dragged out)

I hope you ge thtis sorted soon.

wow the social worker might be able to help. seems they have special vehicles that can do this in an emergency.
so although if this happens I will have to go as her escourt, at least I wouldn't have to drive.
(prays a lot)

oh, fingers crossed for you

2snowshoes · 07/01/2010 11:11

i think dh should go as the escourt, wouldn't that be better, that way if they get stuck he can help. what do you think?
(dh can't drive due to epilepsy)

well, latest news from the front is that the snow has stopped again. she reckons it's going to be on/off all day.

I know she had to dig her way out of Sainsbury's carpark in HH yesterday, and her drive (literally opposite school entrance) is impassable.

road wise was ok-ish yesterday I think, but if any lanes driving necessary then getting stuck a possibility I'd say.

sending dh to help with digging out could well be sensible - is your ds around too, or has he made it into college?

2snowshoes · 07/01/2010 12:10

no his college is shut, he is over at a mates house, we have had 2 very boring child free days

they are comming at 4 to pick dh up and the off to get her.
she will love it as she will have to sit in the back without a car seat(she is 14) as it isn't a WAV

OP posts:
silverfrog · 07/01/2010 12:40

glad that it's arranged.

give me a shout if you want updates on the weather situation

2snowshoes · 07/01/2010 12:50

thanks, I have passed it all on to dh.
I bet I will be on here moaning tommorow that she is being a pain lol
