Dreading DS2 going back to school

We have had an alright school holiday, DH has been off so it has been manageable.

I know for a fact he is going to be a rotter for the the first week he is back, and probably also for the second week. He has also learnt a lovely new phrase "you are pissing me off", who knows where from, and no doubt he will tell his 1:1 this several times during the day.

Also, it is becoming increasingly obvious that he isn't learning with the class. Most of the children can write their names/most of the letters in their names, whereas he can't even write his initial, although can recognise it.

He won't do assembly, so is taken out of the hall and into class, where he gets to play on the computer and watch a dvd. I'm not keen on this, and would rather he is made to do some sort of learning, rather than an activity of his choice. To me it seems that he is getting free reign over his learning, wherea I want it to be more structured.

His IEP is crap, I need to speak to his teacher about it as the targets are way to high, even my NT 6 year old couldnt do two of them!

Sorry for the moan, but I'm having one of those moments where I'm doubting that keeping him in MS is the best thing for him.
