dd1 tries that one - she is tryig to get back to school faster by meal planing the rest of her holidays. her thinking being that once I have agreed that she can have sandwiches for lunch tomorrow, it must be tomorrow lunchtime already

she's forgotten about the Christmas bit in the middle for now. in her excitement at getting back to school

lol, i have one of those here (5 going on 14), i have threatened to phone father x-mas if she doesn't shut up and tell him to put her on the naughty step, you should of heard her scream as i reached for the phone (i did feel a bit guilty).

Dd2 (3) is being a little Angel (so far).

DH has been off since Friday (had loads of holiday to use up ) so every day for the last five days we've had DD "go on the big boat with Teddy" only to be told that we're aren't going to her grandparents until Wednesday!

Ds was running a fever on Saturday and I must admit I got to the end of my tether.

No exaggerating - for 4 hours constantly he was saying 'I'm okay it's not poorly it's not medicine' repeatedly.

He then fell asleep woke up and for the next few hours it was
' I'm okay just tired'

As much as I love hearing him talk it really drove me nuts - he was really hoarse the next day too.

I don't know which is worse tbh, having them home all day or having them at school and then putting up with the resulting inevitable after-school meltdown.

sickofsocalledexperts · 22/12/2009 16:27

I've been really looking forward to the holidays - no early starts, no making packed lunches or doing the school run. But 2 days into the hols I realise that there are still the early starts, more meals and snacks to cook all day, and bored kids wandering around trashing the house for 15 hours not 7!

Apart form the cabin fever, DS1 has been so much more fun to be with without school related woes. It's not often I get to say that in the school holidays.

I may change my mind by the end of the week, though. All hell generally breaks loose with dad off work.
