dd1 is very similar to dd4 in terms of flexiability. always has been, and loves to show off her 'bendy tricks' despite me warning her not to in case she hurts herself.

from reading on the internet, i am pretty certain she also has hypermobility issues. however, it doesnt tend to cause her pain. yet! i know it could get worse as she gets older. she is 10years old soon, and apparently things could progress and cause joint pain etc as she hits puberty. but again it might not. it is only classed as HMS (hyoermobility syndrome) if it causes pain or problems.

should i ask for referral to rheumotology now, for advice, or wait and see?

sorry for posting this in special needs, but you have all been very helpful with regards to dd4 HMS and low tone

wait and see, she might just be a bendy child

well I don't really know much about hypermobility, but I reckon discuss this with the GP, it may be with it being in the family with DD4 that would be more of a reason for a referral.(but could be talking out of my rear end on this...)

thanks

i am juist waiting on letter confirmation from dd4 appointment, so i know the docs have the info as well, and think i'll book in for a chat about dd1. she needs her cardio referral sorted soon anyway

Personally I'd wait and see; lots of people are hypermobile without ever developing any issues and it may be that your dd is one of the lucky ones. (We thought for a long time that ds was). Just be aware if she does develop pains in puberty, that this might be a reason.
