wow! you are lucky to have EP on your side!!! ours is firmly against the idea... its not the same EP is it (initials PP), wouldnt have thought so.

How old is your DS?

pleased for you that you do have 'professionals' on your side, it must make it less daunting.

ours has initials nh, shes lovely though can be extremely patronising bu i try to keep on right side of her!!! you should move to her area!!

ds was 4 on monday, hes been at preschool nearly a year now and struggling quite a lot so i think that helps as they cant say i havent tried etc

how old is your ds?

will have to meet up sometime though not too near christmas as everywhere is just too busy and annoying lol

heheheh LOL yes, its heaving everywhere!

DS5 is 3.6y and only been at school since end of September - he was the last to join because of 'his difficulties' - hes managing fine, the teachers are another story. As a result of their 'overprotectiveness' - "we dont want to rush into things with him", its only this week hes been allowed to go full mornings, 5 mornings a week!

When you say "struggling" in school, what do you mean, in what way?

DS5 doesnt struggle in any way - he just pleases himself, comes, goes, plays with what he wants to... not very educational tho is it?

I think the major problem is that everyone treats him and expect from him the capability of an 18mth old, rather than trying to help him reach his chronological age of 3.6yrs.

he kind of gets by just playing etc but now hes 4 he should be learning but isnt really learning much. his major problems other than obviously the autism in general are behavioural - hes very rough and always hitting kids (and me and my partner at home!), he struggles with the busyness of it and gets very stressed as its noisy and cluttered with people and things etc, he also has a lot of sensory issues which are a problem, would take me forever to write it all but wont bore you, thats the general gist of it. plus of course the fact othr parents are complaining of ben attacking their kids regularly - think that may hlp in the statementing thing lol

will he be staying there or would you want him to go to a more specialised school?
