I missed the programme so apologies.

Tellme (sorry this is very egocentric,am sorry but need to ask) is this something that would be available to all disabled children as defined by DLA, or would it be just for those defined by SS as disabled- the gap between which, here at elast, makes our lives incredibly hard.

TIA

Better ask him when he comes on here...

Peachy · 18/11/2009 13:24

I did put a note about that but already asked questions

Just wondered if they said how it was assessed

From what he said on the program it would be for any child identified as having a disability or developmental problem by a doctor and nothing to do with DLA.

OK

That would include us then (X2)

Usually I promote qualification by DLAyou see becuase it doesn't follow strict SSD definitions but is more needs based- DS1 having AS isn't the issue, his 24/7 supervision needs are.

But a letter from Paed would be OK as she often tries to get us help.

Aslong as it'snot sone by SSD assessment. Never that.

I have never heard of this, can you fill me in and what is SSD?

Peachy · 18/11/2009 17:44

SSD is socialservicesdepartjment (to distinguish from The SS I reckon)

I don't know much about this, only that DC mentioned it on that programme as running in other parts of Europe, and how good it as.... mentioned a few times such as on the DC thread since
