I have spent most of the day weeping over this article in the Guardian. Just wanted to share for anyone whose dc was starved of oxygen at birth;

What a lovely story, some of the memories of the months in SCBU were so real.
The world realy does seem to stop.

i really related to the going home without the baby bit

anonandlikeit · 16/11/2009 16:30

me too, I can remember calling in to TESCO on the way home from SCBU one evening, the checkout woman started to make friendly conversation.
I just wanted to SCREAM, "my baby is in SCBU,i don't want to leave him there"

It is the most un-natural thing to do & the worst feeling in the world.
But when you have a 3 yr old at home & a baby that is going to be in hospital for months you can't just sit by that incubator 24/7.
