AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I DO NOT BELIEVE IT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEPUTY HEAD OF THE SCHOOL AND THE PLACE IS NOT IN THE AUTISTIC UNIT BUT IN THE MAIN EARLY YEARS CLASS.

An update- have been into the school who have been absolutely FAB and will do anything they can to make it as ASD friendly as possible. It will be a class of 6 with one teacher and one TA. They agree that DD needs 1:1 and they will support me on this. They will develop an individual curriculum for DD using TEACCH, PECS etc and visual timetables. They agreed to DD starting part-time and a therapist going in to ease the transition. So, I couldn't have asked for more from them. They were very apologetic and said that DD stands a very good chance of a unit place once in the school.
So feel calmer.
Waiting for statement- then the battle begins for the 1:1 etc...
Meanwhile, have heard along the grapevine that plans are afoot to create an autism-specific class at the other SLD school.
The plot thickens...
