dd starts at hers tonight, only one day a week till 5.50 after school. i thought it would be good for her to have something to do after school for a change, but dh isdisagreeing with me saying she is too young and its all too much hassle (I will have to get the bus to get her) I think because she cant do other extra cirricular things it will be good for her to do this but his disagreement has made me feel guilty.

Am I being silly?

and PS what exactly DO they do at after school club?

that is fab Fio - I would ask for transport home at that time - never know if you don't ask.

Fio, if its within the same LEA I think they are supposed to provide transport! I've seen children being brought by Transport to music therapy etc and I was told that DS could be dropped off at an activity or a designated friend/carer's house if it was in the same borough. I'm not 100% sure about return journey now I think about it, but surely that would be part of the package? It doesn't sound correct that they would take them but not bring them back (I wish sometimes )

hhhmmm well yesterdays after school club was a bit of a disaster. She apparently makaton signed and said mummy over and over again and kept crying and shouting me. When i turned up she went hysterical

Oh no - maybe it will take her a while to settle in (she says with a hopeful look in her eye)....

maybe it is partly because it is so hot. dd has been unusually clingy and attention seeking today and screamed when dh left the house and repeatedly signed daddy (which she has never ever done before). I'm blaming the weather.

sorry to hear that, Fio2. One week at a time, eh?

I am hoping it's the heat too. She is getting a little minx though just lately and realises how to do her drama queen bit to get what she wants
