Someone help me please. On DS list of diagnosis is severe challenging behaviour. Although this should be changed to extreme.
Can't cope anymore. Thanks for the vent.

Hi marmoset,
Agree with everything you said, although I am a bit unsure of Sue? personal feelings after meeting her! Although I do believe they can keep progressing, but not in all areas.
I was at a fair with my dd the other day when 2 carers went on the waltzer with 2 SN blokes (1 down syndrome). I got talking to them and what they were saying is whatever is going on behaviourally now it's hard to knock out as it keeps returning. So basically if they are challenging now they will always be? Make what you wish for that. The guy with DS she had with her had been doing some of the stuff he was doing since he was small.
Hope this makes sense. Getting tired, had DS up most of last night! although he doesn't sleep much anyway, I just got less than my usual 5 hours of broken sleep!
Hope the hols are still going good? Have you come to terms with going back to work yet?
MGC, haven't forgot re photos will send them when I have more time.

Hi de - hope you got a better night's sleep last night.! Yes, I' m sure that progress is very individual and some behaviours are definitely deeply ingrained but to quote the great philosophers on the Tesco ads, Every Little Helps ! There's a great sn playscheme near us and ds has just graduated into the next age group - he was at a disco one night and then sat through a film at the cinema with them the next day - he wouldn't do that with me, cheeky beggar.
Holidays are going ok - had him in kids club for a couple of days last week and this week which went down well with both of us.
I'm getting used to the idea of going back now but it will be hard for the first couple of weeks, i'm sure.
Meant to say in last post that ds has the non-hereditary DS but I was told that the risk factor jumps up after that anyway.
Take care x
