End of school year - who do you buy for?

With DS1, its really easy, he has one teacher, so she will get a box of chocs and a card.

DS2 has three teachers at his SN school, his 1:1 at his MS school, plus two other teachers and the driver and carer on the school bus (smae people through the whole school year)

So who do I buy a thank you for? All of them? Eeek!

My DS has 5 teachers in his class so I buy 1 card and 1 large tin/box of chocs or bics between them.
He has a male driver and male escort so I buy them a card each and a 4 pack.
Don't bother with homecare, bats, ot or physio as he sees these through the school hols.

I buy for bus driver and escort if they have been around a while as ds makes them earn their money!(small chocolates usually). Plus usually send in a big tin of chocs/biscuits for teachers/TAs or if there aren't too many one of those diddy boxes each. I'm sure they must realise you can't get something for everyone. Good thing about sending in a big tin is that if there are part-timers/temporary helpers who you don't really know then they are included anyway.

I like the idea about a big box of chocs.

Phoned the transport, and the driver and carer like whiskey and vodka . Don't think I can afford that!

What about his 1:1? I was thinking of getting her a little something extra, like a charm for her bracelet, saw a lovely apple one.

I bought wine for the escort and driver last year - I figured they could enjoy it in the holidays as they are off duty! They certainly work hard to keep order! Last year I sent in several small boxes of chocolate to school only to hear ds had given half away before he got to his classroom so this year I will send in a big box to share out! I wish I could think of something better too!

I will buy two cards for ds 2 teachers and a big box of chocolates for all the staff to share! ...pennies are tight these days!

A group of parents have organised a whip round ( most putting in £5 ) for 6 teachers/assistants in ds1 2 reception classes and we're getting a voucher for a local restaurant so they can all go out for a night out together. Think they all like each other so that's ok. Will get class teacher separate card to say thanks. DD2 (sn) has lovely 1-1 worker at nursery and will get her chocs and card.. Now I'm wondering about portage worker too.. oh dear..

riven - I share your instincts. The phrase 'tighter than a gnats chuff' is a compliment in my house .

To keep the otherwise huge costs down, I buy the main teacher a little individual gift (plant/candle/chocs) plus the driver and escort a little gift each and then make up a gift bag for all the support to share.

A few years in and I am running short of themes but I've done miniature candles, little boxes of chocs, fridge magnets, little favours like pretty paper hankies and notelets, herb seeds and toiletries (little travel size from Body Shop or buy a gift set and split it up) so far. It can get ridiculously pricey otherwise.
