Been to see paed today who specialises in aspergers etc, said dd was delayed in social, emotional and academical skills, had severe rituals and sensory issues. Its strange but i feel quite relieved to hear a professional say it especially as he thinks the strange flashing sensations she gets in her eyes is sensory. The plan now is to get the educational psychologist involved and hopefully get a one in one place by the time she starts school in September. I am just so relieved cos know she would struggle at school, he said to early to diagnose and wont do that till older but has a lot of aspergers tendancies and learning difficulties. I just hope she doesnt get bullied at school

Well done - whereabouts are you? You may find someone has knowledge of your LEA which is always useful.

How old is your dd? I guess around 4?
Why did your paed say it was too early to dx?

Gosh we are going through the long winding road of assessments , asd dx for our ds who is 3.8y
and depending to whom i talk to , paed or senco or OT ( living next door) i get different answers as to when dx are given.
I go along with the paed now as she will be the one giving a formal dx in the end.
But how frustrating!

Yes she is 4.3 and said they dont like to diagnose to early as dont want them to be stuck with a label. I am just relieved that i got took seriously and hopefully some help will be in place before she starts school in september
