Sensory box - how to adapt to new age/school requirements

Ds is hypersenstive and hyposensitive depending on stimulus and stress levels. We have had a touchy feely box with things in to stimulate senses and help calm him down (mixture of hard, cold, fabric of different textures)

He is now getting bigger and need to make this tool suitable for an necessary trips to school. How do adapt it so more sensitive to the school environment (less likely to embarish or make him a target for teasing) without losing the positive impact the tool has?

I am just glad that we have a place at a very understanding school. They had him in on his own for a visit before the official visits started. Will speak to them. cheers.
