Have just reviewed this on my blog which I thought looked really rather brilliant! I know this is an issue which comes up on here (and it was a problem for us when ds1 was in mainstream) so thought I'd share.

Excellent.
This is a key issue with major weaknesses on both sides (once again I recite my mantra which is about the communication problem being with us and not the kids we are supposed to be supporting.

(Did you get my flyer?)

Ooh yes thanks I did Moondog. Looks really great. I meant to reply (in my head thought I had iykwim).

I agree about communication. I had a real problem getting any information out of the mainstream school, ended up trying to make my own version of the book, but I think the book would have been better.

Yes. Also standardises procedure.
I will try and meet Bondy & Frost in Arizona ABA conference this w/end. Am pencilled in for an Emotions workshop.

looks good wonder if would work in prschool setting t .

saintlydamemrsturnip need your advice on apraxia please

saintlydamemrsturnip · 20/05/2009 16:40

Oh I saw Bondy and Frost in London. Didn't know they were married until then!

Would work fine I think Phoenix. Plenty of room for comments. Some of the classes are a bit academic but plenty of room for comments. And thinks like art and reading (which could be listening to a story).

Fire away with the apraxia question- will help if I can.

thank you

we just been given a dx of sever apraxia today for ds and was gently explained that we need to start looking at communcation aids as he as no words and very limited range of sounds mostly squeals .

Where is best place togoogle for more information what read so far seems to apply more to children with some speech struggling to find stuff at this end of the scale

I've replied on your other thread. I think it is good they have recognised it.

Nancy Kaufman in the States is THE expert in apraxia and does distance consultation if you wanted to ask her opinion. Her system for tackling apraxia is pretty easy to follow as well.

Ds's Primary school were gobsmackingly awful at home/school communication...(gobsmackingly awful at a lot of things actually). I could really have done with something like that then...it looks brill.
Ds is in secondary now.We have a planner that is used by the school as a home/school communicator very well. It is a lifeline actually.I'm like 'ah...this is what it is supposed to be like!'
